CAMEX-3 Andros Island Rawinsonde and Radiosondes

A radiosonde is an instrument carried into the upper atmosphere by a balloon that measures pressure, temperature, relative humidity vs. time. These soundings were conducted to in support of the CAMEX-3 missions flying out of Patrick AFB, FL. The experiment was conducted to study landfalling hurricanes, their structure and development as well as stratiform precipitation in the tropical environment around Florida.

Located on Andros Island during the CAMEX-3 campaign, these radiosondes were launched and operated every day throughout the period 6 Aug-23 Sep 98.
