CAMEX-4 Andros Island Rawinsonde and Radiosondes

A radiosonde is an instrument carried into the upper atmosphere by a balloon that measures pressure, temperature, relative humidity vs. time. These vertical atmospheric soundings were conducted to in support of the CAMEX-4 missions flying out of Jacksonville, NAS, FL. CAMEX-4 focused on the study of tropical cyclone and hurricane development, tracking, intensification, and landfalling impacts using NASA-funded aircraft and surface remote sensing instrumentation.

Located on Andros Island during the CAMEX-4 campaign, these radiosondes were launched and operated every day throughout the period 16 Aug-24 Sep 2001.
