Brief Instrument Description of the
JPL Laser Hygrometer -
Tunable diode laser hygrometer. Measures water vapor, in situ, through absorption of laser light at 1.37 microns in an open path outside of the aircraft boundary layer. Maximum sampling rate is 8 Hz, but instrument is normally configured for 1 Hz sampling (software adjustable). For CAMEX-3 the instrument is mounted on a window blank at station 490-right.
